Tools

The menu bar entry Tools contains the following options:

Parameter	Description
Options...	Opens the dialog Options to import or export settings or to set them as default.
Customize...	Opens a dialog to customize the toolbar and the menus.
Reset Settings and Close...	Resets all settings of the Workbench Studio to the general default settings. A dialog opens, before the Workbench Studio will be closed. This might be useful in case of misconfiguration of toolbar and menu options.
Send to Spy	If a variable is selected, this variable is inserted in the Spy list.
Go to Variable Definition	Opens the Variable editor and selects the corresponding variable. Only available, if a variable is selected. You can use the command via: the menu bar entry Tools in the main window the main window context menu the fieldbus main view context menu the fieldbus property grid with a click of the right mouse button on the corresponding variable entry in the Name column the fieldbus children list with a click of the right mouse button on the corresponding variable entry in the Symbol column
Go to Data Type Definition	Marks the respective data type within the project's data types window (project tree node Types). Only possible, if the selected variable has a custom data type.
Edit Variables as Text...	Opens the dialog Global variables where variables can be edited as text.
Snap Shot Document	Makes a screenshot of the main window and its content and stores it in the clipboard. Via Ctrl + V you can insert this screenshot e.g. in a word document.
Generate HTML Document...	Opens an assistant to configurate the generation of HTML pages with the documentation of your project.
Build Monitoring Application...	Opens the Generate Monitoring Application dialog to configure a monitoring application file.
History...	Opens the History dialog which allows to have a look in the past of your projects.
Global Binding Editor	Opens the Global Binding Editor.
Compare projects	Opens the Compare dialog which allows to compare two projects or parts of it.
Clients	Opens the selected client: Goose Client (allows to analyze GOOSE traffic) IEC61850 Client (allows to connect with IEC61850 servers)
SCL Editor	Opens the IEC61850 SCL Editor Dialog.
Communication Settings...	Opens the dialog Communication Settings where you can define and change parameters for the communication between the Workbench Studio and the target system.
Runtime Service Parameters	Opens the registry design tool in the selected mode. Choose between: Host Design
Import...	Opens the Import Assistant dialog to import external content.
Export...	Opens the Export Assistant dialog to export content.
Automation Script...	Opens the assistant to run the Automation Script. Automation Script allows to automize project creation tasks.
