In this dialog you can define settings or set them as default.

If activated, a dialog opens to confirm to save before closing the program in the main window.

Save every

Automatic save cyclic in defined period (0 -120 minutes)

Rename variable in files after rename in dictionary

If a variable is renamed in the variable list (dictionary), the dialog Replace in files opens. Via the dialog you can rename the variable name in all programs/files where it is used.

Rename POUs in files after rename in database

If a subprogram or UDFB is renamed, the dialog Replace in files opens. Via the dialog you can rename the POU name in all subprograms/files where it is used.

Undo/Redo stack size

Defines the maximum steps to Undo/Redo changes.

Tab size

Defines the space in characters for a tab jump.

Show ST line numbers

If enabled, the line numbers in the script editor are shown in front of each line.

Display all occurrences of the searched string

Allows to mark all occurrences in ST programs, if one word is selected via a double-click and the option is activated.

Also if a string is entered in the search field of the status bar or if a search is placed in the Find/Replace dialog.

Rulers

Defines default vertical markers for new created FBD programs.

Activate intellisense

Asks, if you want to declare a variable which does not exist, if activ. Not available in SFC language.
Hint: A variable with a structure datatype is also an instance of the structure type.

Show Instances in Dictionary

If activ, instances of structures, function blocks and UDFBs are shown in the variable list (dictionary).

When debugging a project, put all others in read only

If active and the project is in debug mode (Simulation mode or OnLine mode), then the other projects in the same project list are in Read-Only mode and cannot be modified.

Browse in all projects

Option in the variable list (dictionary). If you select a variable in the variable list and click in the context menu on Browse Variable, Update Browse Infos and Yes, the Workbench Studio will browse variables in all projects contained in the current project list, to find its place of usage.
Hint: This can be time consuming.

Generate browse information when save programs

Option in the dictionary. Update browse information is done automatically after saving a program.
Hint: This can be time consuming.

Use comma separator for CSV format:

If active, commas are used instead of semicolons when exporting elements in CSV format.

Track changes

Marks modifications in the main window with the defined color, if active. You can define the desired color in the Options dialog. Go to Colors and Common.A double-click on the corresponding color opens the dialog for color definition. Select the desired color and click on OK.

Remember scroll position for restart

If active, the scroll position will be saved and restored when the program will be opened the next time.

Default: activated

Hide tabs when only one document is open

If active, the tab control at the bottom of the main window is hidden if only one document is opened.

Postpone loading document

If active, the loading of each document will be done for the first time, when the corresponding program is shown in the tab below the main window.
This improves the performance for projects with large document content.

Default: inactive

Load used projects only

Allows to define if projects will be loaded in the project list.

Only the Startup project and the used projects are loaded when the checkbox of the property is active and the project list opens.

The usage of the new property improves the performance in case of lots of projects.

Default: inactive

Variable selection box: use list of suggestions

Defines the look of the Selection dialog in the editing programs context:

  • activated: The dialog does not show the tree view, but a list with the prefix entered in the textfield. If the dialog is opened in context with the ST language, the list also includes language keywords and system functions.
  • inactive: The dialog shows the tree view, the Variables drop-down menu and the properties Local variables only and Hide FB instances.

Hint: Outside the editing programs context the Selection dialog is displayed with the tree view and so on, without paying attention on the Variable selection box setting.
