The Workbench Studio enables you to edit several projects in the same workspace. Projects of the workspace are shown in the left-hand window of the Workbench Studio, with their contents (programs, lists...). The set of projects edited in the Workbench Studio is called Project List in menu commands.

Hint: A valid license is required for the usage of the Workbench Studio. If a program is compiled in an unlicensed Workbench Studio, the compiled code will run in demo mode on a licensed target system too.

Practically, each project is stored as a folder on the disk. Any relevant information about a project is stored with that folder. The list itself is stored in a file suffixed by .W5L that only stores the list of project folders and few configuration data. Thus projects can easily be moved / re-arranged in project lists. Project folders are commonly saved at the same location as the .W5L file, but can also be located somewhere else on the disk or the network.

Hint: It is possible, to copy a folder from an existing project to another project within the workspace. For this purpose, you can use the menu bar entries, the shortcuts CTRL+C and CTRL+V or the drag&drop functionality.

Working with project lists

Use the command of the File menu for managing project lists. You can add to project lists either new projects or projects already existing on the disk.

The Startup Project

One of the projects is marked in bold letters in the workspace window, this is the Startup Project. The Startup Project is the one used when entering Online or Simulation modes. You can only test one project at a time. To change the Startup Project, select a project name in the Workspace window and use the command Set As Startup Project of the contextual right-click menu.
