Description

MODBUS on Ethernet

Setting for Ethernet connection.

Default: active

Address

IP adress of the target Modbus device.

Default: 127.0.0.1

Port

TCP/UDP port of the target Modbus device.

Default: 502

Protocol

Protocol operating mode.

Settings:

  • TCP - Open MODBUS
  • UDP - MODBUS RTU
  • UDP - Open MODBUS

Default: TCP - Open MODBUS

Serial MODBUS-RTU

Setting for Serial connection.

Default: inactive

Com. port:

Setting for the Com. port.

Use the following syntax:

PC port:Baudrate,Parity,Databit,Stopbit

Example: COM3:19200,N,8,1

Pc port: Identifier of the COM port on the PC.

Baudrate: 110 - 256000 bits per second

Parity: N (none) or E (even) or O (odd)

Databit: 8 (default)

Stopbit: 1 (default)

Default: empty

Delay between requests

Area for delay settings.

Delay (ms)

Delay time before sending a new request after receiving the response for the last request.

Default: 0

Try to reconnect after communication error

Activates/deactivates automatically reconnection in case of communication error.

Default: active

Manage diagnostic info for slaves

Activates/deactivates the diagnostic info for slaves in case of Serial communication.

If active, the following diagnostic variables can be managed from the Master:

  • Reset counters
  • Slave: last error
  • Slave: last error date stamp
  • Slave: last error time stamp
  • Slave: last reset date stamp
  • Slave: last reset time stamp
  • Slave: translation counter
  • Slave: failed translation counter
  • Slave: reset counters

If the property is not activated, the performance is a little bit higher and less memory space is used.

Default: active

Disabled (do not open and manage this port)

Disables the connection, if active.

Default: inactive

Close dialog

Option

Description

OK

Applies settings and closes the dialog.

Cancel

Discards all changes and closes the dialog.

Help

Opens online help.
