The context menu contains the following entries.

If they are enabled or disabled depends on the context, in which the menu is opened.

Parameter

Description

Undo

Discards the last executed action.

Only possible, if there are actions which can be undone.

Redo

Repeats the last executed action.

Only possible, if there are possible actions to redo.

Cut

Removes the selected content and writes it into the clipboard.

Only possible, if a content is selected.

Copy

Copies highlighted content to the clipboard.

Only possible, if a content is selected.

Paste

Pastes the contents of the clipboard.

Only possible, if a content is available in the clipboard.

Delete

Removes the selected content.

Only possible, if a content is selected.

Select All

Select the complete content in the main window for further actions.

Only possible, if any content is available.

Insert/Set Variable

Opens a dialog for variable selection for function blocks.

With the drop-down list you can show the available elements of the following types:

  • Variables: [all]: Shows all available variables
  • # define: Shows all defines
  • Keywords and functions: Shows keywords and functions

Default: Variables [all]

Additional properties to select via checkbox:

  • Local variables only
  • Hide FB instances

Opening the dialog is only possible, if the placeholder for a variable of a function block is marked.

Insert/Set Function Block...

Offers the possibility to change the type of a function block or make changes to the number of input pins.

Hint: Changing the number of input pins is only possible for a restricted set of function blocks.

To change the number of inputs use the property Inputs. You can change the number of the pins via insert a new number via the keyboard or using the up/down arrows of the spin control.

Additional property to select via checkbox:

  • Help: If active, the help to the choosen function or function block will be opened. This helps to get en overview above different functions and function blocks.
    Default: inactiv

Opening the dialog is only possible, if a function block is selected.

Edit Pins...

Allows the deactivation of input pins.

Only possible, if a function block is marked.

Find/Replace...

This dialog allows to search for specific texts and replace them. Define the following settings:

  • Find what: Insert the text that you are searching for.
  • Replace with: Insert the new text.
  • Look in: Define, where the search should take place:
    • Current document
    • Current Selection
    • Specific project
    • All projects

Additonal properties to select via checkbox:

  • Match whole word only: looks for the search text only in whole words
  • Match case: search is case sensitive

Additional options are:

  • Find next
  • Replace
  • Replace All
  • Find in Files
  • Replace in Files

Search and replace via the buttons:

  • Find Next
  • Replace
  • Replace All
  • Find In Files
  • Replace in Files

Hint: Which buttons are enabled, depends on the context of the search.

Find Next

Allows to search for the next instance of the selected element.

Click on the marked element and Find Next to search further.

Find Next Assigned

Allows to search for the next occurrence where the variable is assigned with a new value.

Show/Hide Local Defines

Opens/closes a separate section within the main window where you can insert and edit your local defines.

Send to Spy

Allows to put a variable into the Spy list to watch the current value and state of the variable in the Runtime Service.

Only available, if a variable is selected.

Go to Variable Definition

Opens the Variable editor and selects the corresponding variable.

Only available, if a variable is selected.

You can use the command via:

  • the menu bar entry Tools in the main window
  • the main window context menu
  • the fieldbus main view context menu
  • the fieldbus property grid with a click of the right mouse button on the corresponding variable entry in the Name column
  • the fieldbus children list with a click of the right mouse button on the corresponding variable entry in the Symbol column

Go to Data Type Definition

Marks the respective data type within the project's data types window (project tree node Types).

Only possible, if the selected variable has a custom data type.

Browse Variable

Makes it possible to search for variables in the whole project.

  • Jump to Variable in Engineering...: Jumps to the variable usage in the corresponding engineering ervironment, if the variable is part of the integrated solution. Not supported for all OEMs.
  • Update Browse Infos: this option shows, that the search references must be updated. In this case a pop up dialog is shown. Confirm the dialog with Yes. If you click on Browse Variable again, the result of the search will be shown.

Only possible, if a variable is selected.

Open UDFB

Opens the selected UDFB program for editing.

Only possible, if a UDFB instance is selected.

Create UDFB with Code...

Creates a new UDFB from the selected content. This UDFB appears in the project tree in the node Programs with the default name UDFB followed by a sequence number e.g. UDFB1.

Only possible, if elements are selected in the main window.

Show/Hide FB Values

Click on Show/Hide FB Values opens a box with the variables and values of the inputs and outputs of the function block can be displayed.

In the Runtime Service you can see the variables and the changing values in the box.

Via a double-click in the row of the variable you can change the value too in an own dialog. Possible options are:

  • TRUE
  • FALSE
  • FORCE
  • LOCK
  • UNLOCK

Hint: The possible options refer on the Datatype of the variable.

Hint: In the Editor you can connect an input to the function block, even if the pin is used and a default value was set. The former default value will be removed.

Only possible, if a function block is selected.

Properties...

Only possible, if a graphical content is marked.
