Product Description
The WP500 system is designed for use in enclosed environments with an IP20 degree of protection for individual modules and can be installed in control cabinets or junction boxes with an IP54 degree of protection or higher, according to EN 60529. The compact and modular design allows for easy installation within standard junction boxes, provided that proper mounting distances are observed.
Mounting and Installation
- Mounting Location:
- The WP500 modules should be installed in closed control cabinets or control boxes that meet or exceed IP54 protection. Ensure that the mounting location is free from dust and moisture to maintain the integrity of the system.
- Mounting Procedure:
- Each WP500 module consists of a bus base module and an electronics module. The bus base modules can be snapped onto a grounded DIN rail without the need for tools. Arrange the modules side by side to automatically create the local bus. Subsequently, snap the electronics modules onto the DIN rail over the bus base modules.
- Removal:
- To remove the electronics module, use a standard tool such as a bladed screwdriver with a blade width of 2.5 mm.
Interfaces and Controls
- Programming and Service Interface:
- The WP500 controllers and bus couplers are equipped with a USB interface that serves as both a programming and service interface. This USB port allows for communication with the controller or bus coupler from a PC, facilitating configuration and diagnostics.
- Reset Button:
- The controllers and bus couplers feature a reset button that can only be operated with a pointed object (e.g., a pen) to prevent accidental activation. Pressing the reset button during operation will restart the device, and it can also be used to reset the controller or bus coupler to default settings.
Memory
- Internal Flash Memory:
- The controllers are equipped with internal flash memory for storing configuration and operational data.
- External Memory Options:
- For additional storage, the controllers support plug-in memory devices such as SD cards, providing flexibility for data management and backup.
