61131-3 projects can be created in the Workbench Studio using the Project wizard.

Fixed_Image

Open the Project wizard dialog in the Menu bar under File and Add New Project....

Parameter

Description

Project

Creates a new empty project.

From template

Creates a new project, based on an existing project template. If this option is selected, a dialog to select a template will be opened.

XML Import

Imports an existing project from an XML file.
If this option is selected a file selection dialog will be opened.

Library

Creates an empty library.

Automation script

Creates a new project based on an automation script.

From GIT

Creates a new project from all XML exports generated for the Version control.

To use this option previous settings in the Version control are required.

Hint: This option is OEM specific and might not be available.

Select the view via the Icons right below the Project wizard window.

Parameter

Display symbols
(Icon)

Displays the possible project bases with symbols.

Display list
(Icon)

Displays the possible project bases in a list view.

New project

Parameter

Description

Destination folder

Defines, where the new project will be stored. The destination is predefined and cannot be changed.

Name

Text field for the freely editable name of the project or library (max. 255 characters).

Hint: Project names containing more than 15 characters cannot be downloaded to Runtime Service versions smaller than 12.

Comment

Text field for additional information.

To create a new 61131-3 project:

  1. Open the Project wizard dialog in the Menu bar under File and Add New Project....
    Define, if a new, empty project should be created or an existing template should be used:
    • Project
    • From template
    • XML Import
    • Library
    • Automation script
    • From GIT
      Hint: This option is OEM specific and might not be available.
  2. Enter a name in the Name textfield.
  3. Optional you can enter a comment in the Comment textfield.
    The following dialogs depend on the selection above, how the project should be created.
    Example: Project
  4. Click on Next.
    The Settings dialog will be opened.
  5. Select the desired settings.
  6. Click on Next.
    The I/Os and networking dialog will be opened.
  7. Select the desired settings.
  8. Click on Finish.

Cancel

Closes the dialog without changes.

Opens the corresponding Help topic.
