Program properties
In this tab you define the properties of a program or function block.
Refer to the description of Program Organization Units (POU) for further description of different kinds of POUs.
Program
A program is identified by a unique name and a single line description text.

Name |
Name of the program. The name of a program should begin by a letter or an underscore ("_") mark, followed by letters, digits or underscore marks. It is not allowed to put two consecutive underscores within a name. Naming is case insensitive. Two names with different cases are considered as the same. A name is madatory for a program. |

Description |
Short single lined description text for the program. |
Programming language
List of available programming languages. Select a language by highlighting it.
When you create a new POU, you have to select its programming language.
Attention: The selected programming language cannot be changed later.
Available programming languages:
- SFC - Sequential Function Chart - Grid editor
- SFC - Sequential Function Chart - Free form editor
- FBD - Function Block Diagram (CFC)
- LD - Ladder Diagram
- ST - Structured Text
- IL - Instruction List (depreceated)
Execution style
Then you must choose a execution type for the POU. Selection from an option list:

Selection from dropdown list. This parent can be changed later. Only available if the option Child SFC program is activated. |
