Overtype mode usage
If you are editing a program and click on the Insert key, the ST/IL control changes to the "overtype mode".
When this mode is active, the selection rectangle becomes a "frame" rectangle.
The frame rectangle indicates, that the next input will replace the selected content.
Another options to replace content is to move the frame rectangle on the desired place, click on ALT key and select the vertical area via a click on the left mouse button in the frame rectangle and scrolling down.
The next input will replace the content in the whole "column".
Hint: This works only, if there is no additional horizontal selection. Otherwise the selection is entirely replaced by new chars.
Example: Vertical selection only. The selected has been replaced with z.
Example: Vertical and horizontal selection. The existing content should be replaced with z again. The content in "second column" will be replaced with new chars.
