The Workbench Studio enables you to freely enter two strings for each variable that describe the variable:

• The Tag is a short comment, that can be displayed together with the variable name in graphic languages.
• The Description is a long comment text that describes the variable.

To change the Tag or Description of a variable, enable the modification mode in the grid and move the cursor to the corresponding cell entry.

Then press ENTER to enter the new text.

Otherwise you can use an own dialog to enter Tag and Description of a variable:

1. Enlarge the field with the variable name of a function block in the Workbench Studio of the corresponding language (FBD editor or LD editor).
2. Open the dialog via a double-click into the enlarged field.
   Now you can enter Tag and Description.

Hint: The dialog is only available, if a variable is linked with the corresponding function Block input or output.

To display the comments there must be enough space available too.
